Player base?
Are there a lot of people left? I was online in Kamadan a few days ago and there was only 4 districts in the middle of the day. I usually see maybe 7 at peak time.

There are still a lot of people left, but not as many as before and they are spread over a large area.

The player base is in a degenerative state....Since the game was made easy the hardcore element of this game is gone along with alot of its veteran players... But there seems to be a steady flow of new casual players for the sake of gw2 rewards.
Although i am surprised there is not more activity this winters day |

Indeed we have less people on. Unfortunatly nothing REAL new was added so many people left after doing all the HoM thingys. Still many players are playing GW but in a casual way.

Plus it's Christmas, so people are out with family and friends more. To find the population centre's atm head to the places where the easily farm-able quests are or popular farming areas.

Think about it this way, in November several (Assassin's Creed Revelations, MW3, Skyrim, Saints Row The Third,) huge titles were released on consoles, how many Guild Wars players also have a console? Also The Old Republic launches tomorrow, I personally have been playing Guild Wars a LOT less. Maybe they took an arrow to the knee.

I am sure there are still plenty of people on---just not hanging around kamadan (when there is a mpb to be had by one or two lucky bucks....)....just running thru kamadan to get the quest.....
there will be more next week after xmas is over and before new years day (lots of peeps are, as has been mentioned, doing RL stuff this week).....and then TONS on new years for the finale!

It's Christmas and since the game is getting old, there are fewer players on. Lots of veterans still play, just not online for hours a day like before, sadly! Although I have seen quite a few new players since a year back or so. There is still a large amount of players. However almost everyone comes back for the big events, like the upcoming New Years! |

Put it this way... I expect no more than 15 of the people on my full friends list will be online for the finale. For halloween, it was 3. On the other hand, districts will be full and it's a good time to make new friends.

I understand the popular game launch from November, I thought they would diminish the population, but Kamadan seemed steady even a week after Skyrim was launched. For Wintersday it seems low but being with family and farming explains a large portion.

My entire guild is mostly gone, at best log on only at intervals of weeks. I still play daily, but entirely casually. Zaishen Challenges if it looks fun, go gather some war supplies if it looks worth it. Proactive gather for Nicholas the Traveler. There are a lot of new players, though. Overall, given the age of the game and the looming of GW 2, surprisingly good turnout.

Multiple restarts in RA too, and when you get in it's nothing but sync guilds.
So syncers and the new game from egosoft x3:AP has meant I don't bother with GW other than on my lunch break in work for 40 mins. |
